Wordless Wednesday

Manic Monday

**I didn't leave! I promise! Okay, so let me dish about why I've been MIA for a week!! I was all ready to post Wednesday evening and got caught up talking to a friend I hadn't heard from in a while. Then, sadly, early Thursday morning I got really sick. I was certain I had food poisoning. I laid around moving as little as physically possible. My little girl was surprisingly cooperative. Being that she's only three, she was very patient and laid around with me and played with her Leap Pad. Luckily, I was able to take her to her grandfather's house later in the afternoon to stay for the night. I was really glad I did because I ended up spiking a fever of 102... yikes... guess that's not food poisoning. I was very thankful that my friend Tamara came to stay with me. I was very glad to not be alone. Sometime during the night my fever finally broke. Friday was spent regaining my strength and trying to eat real food. Kind of sad when cold Little Ceasar's pizza is as satisfying to eat as a steak!!**

Weekend Wrap-up:

Well after being down Thursday and Friday I was finally feeling back to normal just in time for my favorite holiday! St. Paddy's day! No, I don't know why it's my favorite holiday. It just is. Since I felt better I finally got around to getting my bangs trimmed!

I also needed to go to Best Buy to get a certain cord so I could hook up my laptop to my TV to stream Netflix. I knew I needed more than just the standard since I have an Apple laptop. Well, I knew which port it was but didn't know the proper name and didn't want to take the laptop with me so I just took a picture. I couldn't believe how excited the sales guy was when I showed him this. He said some people just show up and say "I need a cord" without any other information. See, my constant addition to taking pictures of everything paid off!

Brynn and I drove up to see my dad and have lunch with my step-mom's family. It was a good time. She had a blast running around with the other kids and basically acting a fool! Oh, and how she enjoyed her corn!! This girl LOVES to eat, just ask anyone!!

Saturday evening Brynn stayed with my dad and his wife while I went bowling for a couple hours. We had so much fun! I did have one fatality.. my thumbnail.. broke the tip off with the first bowl!

Sunday was fairly uneventful. I probably should have used the day to be crafty but I used it to be lazy and watch reruns of Grey's Anatomy. *I miss George!!* But it was a nice end anyway.

I changed my nails today! And matched them with my new shirt!

Weekend Wrap-Up:

Friday evening I went to eat at Taziki's in Little Rock. It's a Mediterranean Greek type food. It was excellent. I already can't wait to go back! Saturday was a FULL day of shopping. Accompanied by Shari, Marta, and my little girl we took on the mall! I'm pretty sure the stores won this round!! I found some really good stuff though. First stop was Bed, Bath, and Beyond were I got 3 new Tervis Tumblers. A Tinkerbell one for Brynn, a LSU and a Star Wars one for me.

Next stop was the mall. I've been wanting to get a third hole in my ear (just one side) for a while now so I finally decided to do it when we were in Claire's. Plus I got several new pairs of earrings.

Plus Shari and I found a really amazing glasses!

Not sure it gets much cooler than that!! Brynn had lots of fun herself riding around in her Princess car!

From there we went to The Container Store and finally to Kohls. Here is where I did some amazing saving! For those that don't know, my kiddo is a GIANT! She's only three but basically the size of a five-year-old. So I really needed to get her some new clothes. Ended up getting....

Sunday was fairly uneventful (or so I thought). I've been looking for a new television lately since the one in our living room went out. I had found a 32inch flat screen LCD Sanyo at Walmart with a built-in DVD player for $378. Well since it had been on sale I thought I should go ahead and get it while it was in stock and on sale. At the last minute I decided to go to Best Buy just to see if there was anything close to what I saw there. Definitely didn't think I'd be walking out with a 42inch flat screen LCD Dynex for $315!! No, it didn't have a built in DVD player but I was able to buy a Philips HDMI DVD player and still come out less that the smaller TV from Walmart. Needless to say, I'm in heaven now!!! Internet and an amazing TV?! This is good stuff!!

Sunday evening I went to Walmart to pick up a few things. Not long after I got there, the power went out. Just just like off and back on... like, backup generators are powering Walmart out. With the flood of calls and texts I soon realize it's almost the entire city! After figuring out how far spread it was, decided it must be an Entergy transmission line that services Benton Utilities and First Electric (I work at First Electric). I was sure we were in for a long night. Luckily power was back on in just a couple hours after I got back home. If my hall light hadn't been left on I probably wouldn't have even noticed until the morning.

So it was a good and interesting weekend. Obviously I didn't get to post using my new Internet connection at home but as you can see, I didn't have much time!! Okay, I'm seriously going to clean off my craft table before I go to bed.

In closing... can you tell I'm ready for the Hunger Games release??

It's a Beautiful Day!

So happy that it's Friday! It doesn't quite feel like a Friday for some reason other than the fact that I can wear jeans to work! I'm very excited because I should have internet at my house this evening hopefully when I get home! My trusty Android cell phone will finally get a break! I use it for everything!! Internet, phone, movies, all of it. This will be much nicer and hopefully will allow me to work on my creative stuff much easier and quicker. Also, I should be able to post more frequently!

In other news, I have changed my nails four times in the last 5 days. The only reason I didn't change them yesterday was because I was moving furniture at my office. I've already posted one on Monday but here's all the changes. My favorite is today's because it matches my outfit so well! :)

Hee hee! So much fun! The nice thing is I haven't spent much money on polish either. A lot of that stuff is Wet n Wild and Pure Ice which are both really cheap but work well. I love all the inspriation on Pinterest for nails. Mine won't look near that amazing but I'm still pretty proud of myself!

Wednesday evening I was able to enjoy a girl date with several friends to discuss my friend Jessica's upcoming wedding and plans. She's planning very DIY and simple, so there is going to be lots of fun to be had the in the next few weeks! Plus she's going to be doing most her planning while she's at grad school in TN! Luckily, she has a power team back here ready and willing to do everything necessary!

Yesterday I finally went to the eye doctor for an exam. I've had these same glasses for 7 years now. How they've managed to survive unharmed (for the most part) is beyond me! To my surprise my vision hasn't changed to much since then so that was nice. I'm very anxious to get my new glasses which should be here within the next 2 weeks. I'll be sure to post my Before/After once they come in! I'm fairly certain I will be like a kid in the candy store!

Weekend Wrap-Up:

 

My weekend was mostly uneventful. Lots of sleeping in which was a change and was very nice. I got to see Wanderlust with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. (btw, I have a major girl crush on Jennifer Aniston. She's simply amazing) That movie was really good! So funny. But there is good reason it's rated R!

I went to Walmart and was looking for some new glasses. I've had the ones I wear now for 5 years... I think it's time for a new pair! I found a pair that I really like and aren't too bad in price. I filled out paperwork to get my eyes checked only to find out they don't take my insurance. Rats! Luckily I'm going in Thursday for an eye exam at an office that is a provider.

You should probably know I have an un-natural love of St. Patrick's Day. I'm not Irish, I don't have red hair, but I love St. Paddy's! So I was super excited to see the fun stuff walmart had. Shari's dog chico even got in on the fun!

 

I've been seeing a TON of nail tutorials and such online and just had to try a little something. Not too bad, might have tried a little more if I had more time. :)
